Wellstar Health System seeks a pragmatic and motivated financial leader to serve as the inaugural Vice President, Finance (VP) for their newly formed Wellstar Health Plan (WHP).
Wellstar Health System has grown tremendously over the last several years and is one of the largest and most integrated not-for-profit health systems in Georgia. Wellstar is committed to health equity and eliminating health disparities and is one of the largest providers of uncompensated healthcare services in Georgia. Having provided a total of $1.2 billion in uncompensated care last year, Wellstar is one of the top ten charity care systems in the nation.
In 2023, Wellstar made the strategic decision to launch its own health plan and has invested over $500 Million into the digital operating model of the health plan. Wellstar believes their own health plan can serve an unmet need in the marketplace for a high-quality plan at a reasonable cost that takes advantage of its broad network of services and providers.
The VP of Finance is a key member of the WHP Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the health plan. The VP will provide financial input and analysis for the policy making functions of the WHP Board of Directors and the operating and strategic decisions of the WHP management team.
The new VP of Finance must be a strong business leader, especially as it relates to all areas of the health plan. This individual will need to build transparent communications between the Wellstar Health Plan, Wellstar Health System, and their vendors.
