MODESTO, CA, --- December 6, 2005 -- MCOL, the premiere business-to-business health management and managed care resource company, is pleased to announce the launch of a free public web site: www.myhealthchoices.com. MyHealthChoices has been designed to provide consumers and employers support in choosing and using health plans by providing resources for dealing with increasing consumer out-of-pocket costs for hospitalizations, such as deductibles, coinsurance, copays and benefit limitations and maximums.
MyHealthChoices offers free instant memberships to consumers and employers. Members can then access the Out of Pocket Calculator and the other member resources provided for choosing and using health plans and dealing with out of pocket costs, including free member e-newsletters.
The newest service introduced by MCOL, myHealthChoices, has also been designed to work with interested hospitals in providing a local solution to assist consumers and employers with information on choosing and using the health plans, including a customized version of the Calculator and resources for dealing with out of pocket hospitalization costs.
MyHealthChoices provides a unique Out-of-Pocket Cost calculator for hospitalizations that can be used as an additional tool in evaluating different health plan options. The calculator comes with pre-set HMO, PPO and Consumer Driven Plan benefit levels for comparative purposes, but actual specific benefit levels for specific plans can be entered as well. A user enters personal demographic data and selects from a variety of inpatient procedures and treatments, to produce estimated out of pocket costs for the chosen health plan benefit option. These estimated out of pocket costs provide a relative tool to compare hospitalization coverage between different health plan benefit options.
