MODESTO, CA, --- April
20, 2005 -- MCOL, the premiere
business-to-business health management and managed care resource company, is
pleased to announce the launch of a free public web site: www.managedcaremuseum.com.
This unique site is dedicated to providing a repository of historical managed
care data for health care professionals, researchers, students, speakers
preparing presentations, the media and the general public.
Clive Riddle, MCOL president, says, “In celebration of
MCOL’s 10th anniversary providing knowledge resources to managed care and
health management professionals, we’re delighted to open the Managed Care
Museum, where admission will always be free of charge, and important past
information on managed care will remain readily available to those who seek
it.”
A virtual tour of the Managed Care Museum includes
timelines; library of narrative history; a gallery of images; a “Hall of
Defunct Plans” with a database of plans no longer in existence; 20th century
archives database with representative managed care documents and data; and free
subscription signup for the MuseumWire e-newsletter.
Claire Thayer, MCOL vice president of Research and
Development, adds, “While we’ve opened the Managed Care Museum with a very
interesting collection of information, we also continue to welcome submission of
historical content to the Museum from interested organizations, such as
representative plan documents, historical articles and papers or current papers
on the history of managed care, links to historical photos and images, and
representative historical data. Organizations submitting accepted content are
cited as a Museum Patron. A link is provided in the Museum for organizations to
contact us regarding submitting such content.”
