Medicare HMO web site created for consumers and other interested parties
Modesto, CA - MCOL has launched a web site exclusively dedicated to providing extensive information about Medicare HMOs for anyone considering joining a Medicare HMO, or otherwise interested in gathering additional information about them. The web address is www.medicarehmo.com and is completely accessible for free to the public.
"We continually research the web for managed care content. We were surprised to see that a web site was not available that was specifically dedicated to Medicare HMOs. As MCOL is in the managed care informational software business, we certainly have the resources to develop such a site, and we’re pleased to unveil this premier education and resource center" stated Claire Bollier Thayer, MCOL Director of Research and Development. "The need to centralize this information is huge, given the magnitude of the number of current and soon-to-be Medicare Beneficiaries, the growth in demand for Medicare HMOs, and the complexity of the information involving HMOs." Ms. Thayer continued.
The site includes a number of sections including general information on managed care; general Medicare HMO information; regional Medicare HMO and health care information; and a Senior Web Center. Applicable Health Care Finance Administration web site information on Medicare HMOs can easily be linked from the site as well.
"Persons considering joining a Medicare HMO can visit our site and become much better educated on how managed care works, review a wide library of articles on Medicare HMOs and managed care, link to other key Medicare HMO resources on the web, find regional information on Medicare HMOs and other applicable resources, and even use the Senior Web Center for other web resources of interest to seniors. Furthermore, we will soon be adding the ability for consumers to request free information packets from applicable health plans and providers at the click of a mouse." Ms. Thayer concluded.
