The Directory has been offered since 1995 from HealthQuest Publishers, which MCOL acquired last year, and is an ideal tool for business development, recruitment or marketing to professionals in the Managed Care Industry.

According to Claire Thayer, MCOL Vice President of Research and Development, “Our analysis indicates that there has been significant change for leaders of managed care organization during the past year. 15.9% of the company offices previously profiled in the directory have been shuttered, and 14.4% of executive positions in remaining locations experienced turnover during the past year.”

Says Thayer, “This year’s update offers 6,767 separate executives listed from 688 companies, with up to 30 key executive positions listed per company. In addition to their actual title, executives are listed by standardized job functions, with 8,711 total listings by job function provided as some executives pull double or even triple duty in filling key functions in certain organizations.”

Companies listed in the directory are managed care-related organizations that typically serve 50,000 members or more. These Companies represent multiple industry segments to provide a single source of contact information including address, phone and fax. Parent company information is included where applicable, and all companies are listed according to the following standardized categories: Administrative Services; Care Management; Health Plan; PBM; Provider Network; and Specialty Organizations.

The book version is 350 pages in length and includes an index of companies by state. The CD-ROM version of the Directory for the first time includes an Adobe Acrobat version of the Directory book in addition to offering multiple file formats of the directory database, including: pre-formatted mailing labels in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Tab Delimited Text and Database IV files.
