MCOL RELEASES CALIFORNIA RATE 2000 DATABASE SUITE
‘The Source’ for CA Market Specific Premium Intelligence
MODESTO, CA ---Managed Care On-Line (mcol.com), a leading healthcare information technology company specializing in delivering managed care knowledge resources to professionals involved in managed care via the Internet and through software applications, today released CA HMO Rate 2000, a suite of CA HMO Premium Rate Data Tools, with plan and county specific data provided on CD-ROM.
Says MCOL President Clive Riddle, “There is no other source like the CA HMO Rate 2000 suite of premium rate intelligence. Our experience with CA HMO Rate 99 demonstrated that this is an invaluable positioning and analysis tool for plans, providers and market analysts who have grown to rely on this product to gain competitive advantage in the CA marketplace. And, with various national sources projecting premium rate increases during year 2000 between 7.5% and 12%, and the premium pricing cycle in full upswing, this is a critical time for all parties involved to have access to this comprehensive knowledge resource.”
The CA HMO Rate 2000 suite of modules has been enhanced to include year 2000 premium rate survey data, 2000/l999 rate increase analysis, and a variety of executive and other narrative reports, pre-set detailed reports, premium rate learning tools, plus comprehensive premium rate databases.
The key module in the suite is the CA HMO Commercial Premium Rate survey, where MCOL last year collected more than 12,000 sets of premium rates from agents and employers throughout the State, and developed a comprehensive database, with average rates by plan, by county broken out by tier, benefit level, group size, and age band. This year, even more rates have been collected, and management reports are included to provide analysis of 2000/l999 rate increases.
New modules this year include an Executive Report with key findings, along with summary data tables; a new Commercial Premium Rate Primer, with a series of premium rate management articles addressing trends and methodologies; and a detailed CA HMO profile.
“We’ve also added a new option, the CA HMO Report, for those who want a lower priced alternative that doesn’t include the databases, but does provide significant market and rate reports and information, including the Executive Report, Commercial Premium Rate Primer and CA HMO Profile,” adds Riddle.
Other returning modules include historical premium PMPM revenues by plan; a database of current and historical premiums in California purchasing pools, and Medicare + Choice database, enhanced this year to include a database of by plan, by county premiums.
CA HMO Rate 2000 is available for the price of $2,495, and the CA HMO Rate Report is available for just $525. Orders and considerable additional information can be obtained by contacting MCOL at 1.209.577.4888 or on the Web at www.macareol.com/carate2000.htm.
