Former Kaiser Permanente Director of Operations Joins Preeminent Healthcare Information Site
MODESTO, CA ---January 28, 2000 – MCOL (mcol.com), the Internet’s managed care knowledge resource company, today announced the appointment of Karen Hutcheson as chief operating officer, effective February 1, 2000.
Hutcheson, who most recently operated a national consulting practice specializing in managed care operations, brings over 27 years of operations management experience in the managed care industry to MCOL. Hutcheson will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and administration of MCOL, a five-year old Internet site, which continues to exceed members’ expectations through the delivery of additional products and services.

Hutcheson has held a variety of high-level healthcare management positions. She served as Director of Operations, Stanislaus County for Kaiser Permanente where she developed Kaiser’s first network model in Northern California. Prior to her position with Kaiser Permanente, Hutcheson was Chief Operating Officer for Tenet Healthcare’s National Health Plans where she was responsible for operations of a California HMO, PPO, Indemnity Insurance Co and an MSO. Throughout her diverse career, she has lent her expertise to a number of start-up operations and expansions.
She received her MBA from California State University, Stanislaus and her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma.
